I'd like to send emails to our current donors that use tokens for their Contact Name and that also has info regarding Most Recent Donation and Date of Donation.  For example:

Dear [LarryBerger],

Thanks for your past support, including your most recent donation of [$50] on [12/1/2013].

I don't see how to incorporate the donation data into a mailing list template.  Is this possible?  I see Checksum possibilities, but our data is not ready for this.

One workaround I see, is to export the donor data to Excel and then to do everything *outside of Civi*, perhaps via a mail merge using Thunderbird.  But I'm hopoing there's surely a way to keep it all in the system.

Thanks.  We're using WP 3.7.1 and CiviCRM  4.2.10.  Do you know off hand if this is compatible with our installation?

We're also very interested in this feature. It's been an important part of our fundraising mailings in the past. We'd also really like to be able to build smart groups based on the amount of the last donation but so far haven't found a way to do that.

Lobo,  do you have the extension running on 4.2? I installed on  4.2 with error and cannot determine if it's due to CiviCRM version needing to be 4.3 or something else.
