php_value memory_limit 32M

I was having the install issue Fatal error: xml_domit_lite_parser.php on line 135 so I followed the posts about adding line php_value memory_limit 32M to my .htaccess file. Everytime I add this to the file my whole joomla install errors and will not display. any Ideas?

Are you using the default htaccess.txt file that installs with Joomla? Have you made any other mods to this file?
I believe the php settings referenced must be at the bottom of the file, past all the mod_rewrite stuff.
Also check with your hosting provider -- some don't allow php setting overrides through .htaccess -- you have to do it with php.ini files.

I had to have my provider make the changes. Installed fine after change. thanks
