Primary Phone field not updating

Hello,

I have CiviCRM installed with my WordPress installation and i've came across an issue that I need help resolving. I have a page that displays an edit-profile form, the user can edit fields from their civicrm profile. All of them update just fine except the Phone field, which keeps reverting to it's prior value.. doesn't wan't to save. Anyone know what would be the cause of this issue?

make sure that all the address / email / phone fields use the same location type (either all primary or all home etc)
