Double Entry Email Validation for Joomla

I was reading through this post regarding double-entry email validation for Drupal.

It doesn't work out of the box for Joomla. I wondered if anyone had gotten it to work in Joomla or could shove me in the right direction to edit the code for Joomla sites.
