Live check in system AJAXy thing for Civi events?
January 02, 2014, 11:29:16 am
A couple of CiviCons ago someone introduced an API/Ajax "overlay" for lack of a better term that would all someone sitting at a desk to easily "check in" event attendees by finding their name and changing status.

What's it called?  Batch update via profile can serve this function but not as elegantly.  What happened to this?  Is it an extension now?   Has it been abandoned?

Perhaps you're thinking of CiviMobile?

Pretty sure it was not CiviMobile.   Can CiviMobile do that?  Meaning: ajax click-a-person-to-checkin from a list of "registered" event participants.

Might have been me. It's an old drupal module that hasn't been ported to civicrm native extension.

Not sure if the code is pushed on github. Let me check next week when I'm back from south africa.

Thanks X.  The functionality I'm looking for is basically:

1. see a screen of all participants of status "registered" for one event
2. click their name (or a box  next to their name) and it changes their participant status from "registered" to "attended" in Civi
3. on the screen it shows an indicator next to their name (icon, X, whatever) and they are now checked in, but their name is still on the screen
4. in case you make mistake and click the wrong name you can click their name again it changes status back to "attended" with a warning popup "are you sure?"

that's it

Did you have a chance to check on this? Interested in this module as well. Thanks.

The module was a bit too linked with civi 3.2 and I'm not up to the task of upgrading it.

For another project, I have used a mix of the existing edit in place and datatable to deal with list of contacts
https://github.com/tttp/ep2014

Working quite ok, I have a user that would be interested to apply to event participants, but he can't cover the day of work it would take for now.

Please let me know if you can work on based on the example... or help funding
