pdf attachment to billing email
January 06, 2014, 09:55:18 am
My client would like to have a pdf of the invoice attached to automated membership renewal emails.  Apparently their members want to be able to have a hard copy to send to their accounting department (The members are all businesses).

Does anybody have an idea on how to do this?  I see files can be attached to individual emails that go out, but don't see how to attach them to automated emails.

U'll need to modify the code here:

CRM/Contribute/BAO/ContributionPage.php, function recurringNotify and add the PDFFilename to the template params variable.

I suspect this might be useful to other folks, so once you have it working, you should file an issue and a patch so we can add that functionality to core in a future release

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.  I looked at it for about an hour and it is beyond my capabilities knowing how to add it into the message template, getting it to be added to the email, etc.

I've actually been looking at this myself, so thanks for the pointer. I am happy to create the patch, leave it with me.

My client might be willing to pay for this work.  Does anybody have an estimate on how long it would take and how much it would cost?

If they can wait a month or two I'd be happy to talk, but really no time right now. Feel free to PM me for further discussion.
