Default enable Word Replacements
January 10, 2014, 11:49:03 am
Currently, there is a non-standard UI pattern on the Word Replacement form - one enables the option represented by the row on the left. Elsewhere enable/disable is via actions on the right. Also, by default, creating something enables it by default.

Word replacement disables new replacements by default.

Either switch UI pattern to one used elsewhere, or use jQuery to set first column to enabled when focus first enters a field on a blank row.

Agreed. In 4.5 I have rewritten the enable/disable code to use the api. So as long as word replacements have an api it is extremely easy to accomplish what you describe.
Are you (or a developer of yours) going to submit a patch? I'd be happy to walk them through the new enable/disable code.

No, unfotunately it isn't a priority for us.

We have been tending to focus on functionality enhancements and bug fixes.

We don't have a client that makes extensive use of this. Our big pro bono push lately is to publish extensions for things we've already done.

OK hopefully it will get taken care of as part of upgrading forms to use Doctrine.
