Dummy payments - what happens to the credit card data
April 18, 2008, 04:28:39 pm
I notice when I set the Dummy payment option it provides a set of credit card fields (which we do not get with our PayPal set up).

What happens to this data?

I am still trying to work out how to run an event with online registration but no online payment option (which is why I am trying to use the Dummy option) - but don't see that Dummy helps if it provides a load of credit card fields, unless we have the option of having that data sent to us so we can manually process the credit card payment.

1. dummy only operates in test mode. this was a community contribution for an older version. We've not done a lot to maintain/enhance it. It ignores all payment data :)

2. You can write a payment processor to do what you need (i..e send u the info). However, i'd strongly recommend against it, since ensuring that data is kept safe / secure etc is potentially not possible via email

3. If you dont need credit card info, you can always use the "no fees option" in event fees
