Email profile field missing on CiviContribute forms

We have set up a Membership contribution form on which we wish the user to enter their email addresses, by putting email fields into one of the form Profiles. But the fields are not showing up on the form.

I have reproduced this on the CiviCRM demo site, creating a profile "Test Profile For Emails", here:
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/uf/group/field?reset=1&action=browse&gid=14

There are 3 email fields, plus the Note(s) field. I added this profile to the end of the existing Membership Renewal form:
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/contribute/custom?reset=1&action=update&id=2

Here's the result:
http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=2

You can see that the Profile is showing up at the bottom, the Notes(s) field is showing, but none of the 3 email fields are showing up.

Seems like a bug. Any suggestions?
