Core Delete Settings Code Commented Out

Hi guys,

In the context of making an extension (to be shared with the community) I want to delete some settings that get created on install functions.

But here https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-core/blob/master/CRM/Core/BAO/Setting.php I notice that the code for delete item is commented out!!!

How can I delete settings? Is this such a crime?
