Relative dates and fiscal year

Is there anyway to redefine the relative dates that Civicrm search uses such that "This year" would meana definable fiscal year rather than the calendar year? Our FY begins on 7/1 and it would be helpful if a search that used "This year" or "Last Year" began on 7/1/XX and ended on 6/30/XX.

This is an excellent idea.  There's already a place to define your fiscal year, but it only works on certain contribution reports (e.g. the LYBUNT report).

A related issue - there's no way currently to define that a fiscal year starts before the corresponding calendar year.  So if your FY2014 starts in 2013, Civi gets confused.

This might make a good CiviDay task - though unfortunately I'm pretty sure I already have a CiviDay task in mind.

I think a slighly better way might be to add another entry(ies) called:

This Fiscal year
Last Fiscal year

(and conditionally add those only if fiscal year does not start on 01/01)

This allows folks to do both fiscal and calendar year as needed
