Concrete5 Integration
January 28, 2014, 07:44:57 pm
Hi there. I'm building a proposal for a Concrete5 project, and the client asked if CiviCRM would be a good choice to integrate.

We're advanced PHP developers and can handle custom integration, if need be. But I'm wondering if there is a guide for integrating either with Concrete5 or with a custom integration.

Thanks in advance!

There is quite a lot of documentation on Civi's APIs and extension framework:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Developer+Resources

... however nothing specific to integration with another CMS.

In general, the vast majority of the Civi codebase is CMS independent. The code for the 3 supported integratations is contained n the corresponding repositories - so probably worthwhile for you to review those:

Another question. The old system on this website does not have the capability to track user interactions on the site. Is this something that CiviCRM would be able to do?

Depends on what you are referring to. Regarding pages visited, CiviCRM keeps no record of such, but regarding contributions or event registrations, of course those are recorded. But the content part of your site (any site) is probably not connected to CiviCRM at all in reality and so CiviCRM will not "know" what happens there.

csstudio - we need to talk, I am also considering integration with Concrete5 and do have all the elements in place, including a Standalone version of CiviCRM. I am also using Concrete5 for my website. Please get in touch with me: nicolas@cividesk.com, http://www.cividesk.com
