bulk optout and renewal reminder

Will someone who optout of bulk email be able to receive the automated renewal reminders?

I would expect not, although I do not know out of the top of my head if the membership renewal reminder is considered bulk mail. But testing it should be fairly easy?

Tested and it seems someone who opts out will still get the membership renewal emails.
