Set resource directory
January 31, 2014, 05:53:37 pm
In trying to resolve an extension resource problem with civivolunteer , I have managed to mess up the main resource directory. I now unable to get to the civi admin functions and the templates are in plain text. Can some tell me where ( what files need to be edited ) I should look to reset all the resource directories properly. I am running on Joomla 3.21 and the latest civi version.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You set resource directories via the web interface, not in a file. Go to civicrm/admin and then use the links on the page :

Administer > System Settings > Directories

Thanks for your reply Herschel. I am still unable to find a extension resource which does not trigger the error msg re setting resource directory for CiviVolunteer to work. My setup is as follows
domain.org
this is frame redirected to host.

http://www.host.com/account/htdocs/...../blog2(joomla site root)/administrator/com_civicrm/civicrm/
The extension resource dir is
http://www.........../blog2/media/custom_ext/
only the  track volunteer hours button works  the assign and schedule buttons do nothing.

The only difference in setup is vol 1.3 and joomla 3.22

I'm pretty sure I am  overlooking something but any help or ideas would be super appreciated.

You have used the URL for the "extension directory" and that's the problem. It must be the directory on the server, not a URL. It would be something like:

/home/account/public_html/blog2/media/custom_ext/

but we can't precisely as every server is different.
