Public Directory - Do not want fields to link
February 07, 2014, 05:44:56 pm
I am working on re-doing my organization's website in WordPress with CiviCRM.  Currently, I am creating a "Board of Directors" page with my individuals who are tagged as "Board of Directors" bring listed.  It's working ok, but I see that when I view the profile (ex: http://new.tagnw.org/civicrm/?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/profile/view&reset=1&id=5&gid=13) all of the words are links.  I don't want the words (such as "CEO") to be links.  Did I miss a setting to turn this off?

Thank you.

hi - check on your fields in the profile and see if the are set for 'public' or for 'admin and user'

the former makes the fields work as viewable lists (links) which may be your issue

They are all set to public.  If I change them to admin or user, doesn't that mean you would need to be logged in to see them?

sorry i may be putting you wrong - did you read the help text against the field Visibility?

Code: [Select]
Is this field hidden from other users ('User and User Admin Only'), or is it visible to others and potentially searchable in the Profile Search form ('Public Pages' or 'Public Pages and Listings')?
When visibility is 'Public Pages and Listings', users can also click the field value when viewing a contact in order to locate other contacts with the same value(s) (i.e. other contacts who live in Poland).

I have not - will dig around and see what I can figure out.  Was thinking it was an easy "flip this switch" type answer.  :)

it is just a switch really - the help text should help you get to where it is - but it is a switch on each field.

Afaik links are put into profile fields if the field is searchable. So you can switch that off in the field settings.
