After I updated to Civi 4.4.4 and Joomla 2.5.18, new users are no longer linked in civicrm_uf_match.  Anyone else who uses the CiviCRM authentication plugin having the same problem?  To work around this, I have to manually enter the link between the Joomla user (manual entry in civicrm_uf_match table) and I had to turn on the Joomla authentication just to get folks logged.  What happened with 4.4.4 that could have caused this?

I have not updated CiviAuthenticate if a little while, and need to do some work to ensure compatibility with v4.4.x

Someone else had contacted me indicating similar issues, but I haven't had a chance to work through it. I'll see if I can budget some time this week and then update this thread.

It seems that in the 2.5.17 to 2.5.18 upgrade Joomla changed their password handling to be more secure. I've not been able to find any documentation about this, but other Joomla 2.5.18 users are having similar problems with other custom authentication plugins. I've flagged it here - http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=834695&p=3137141#p3137141 - and will post if they provide any more useful info.

(There was one fix posted here - http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=625&p=3136622 - but I can't tell if it's suitable or not).

I just saw this and have quickly tested - it seems to work great, and the other functions all seem to work well too.
