Guest Contributions with Joomla 3.2
February 11, 2014, 06:06:18 am
I can't enable guest contributions for some reason. I've created a contribution page in CiviCRM (4.4), I've made sure that using Joomla's ACL that public/guests can access and make contributions, and then I've created a public menu item to that contribution. When I try to load that page, I get this message:

Quote
Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
The requested Profile (gid=9) is disabled OR it is not configured to be used for 'Profile' listings in its Settings OR there is no Profile with that ID OR you do not have permission to access this profile. Please contact the site administrator if you need assistance

Any suggestions?

Okay I'll answer my own question. First, there are a # of posts with this same question, but the forum's search tools didnt find them. Of course, trusty old Google found them all (with the same search string). Anyway, there were a couple "issues" here.

1. There should be some instructions about basic ACL administrators need to setup, because it sounds like CiviContribute should work for guests "out of the box" but it doesnt.
2. The other is that setting ACL in joomla's acl manager for "make online contributions" wasn't enough. You also have to "CiviCRM: profile create"

Anyway, this is a huge app. Lots of things to learn:)
