Track source links for completed contributions

Hi CiviFolk,

Client wants reporting on contributions completed after clicking on an appeal in a CiviMail blast (e.g. email x led to y number of donations totaling z $).

@Lobo's blog from 2009 looks good: https://civicrm.org/blogs/lobo/tracking-contributions-and-event-registrations-campaigns-and-appeals

But I wanted to check to make sure there hasn't been thinking/advancements on this topic since then that I haven't been able to uncover in my searches.

Thanks,

Shai
