Exposure of Custom Data For Organization in Front-End
February 13, 2014, 04:37:19 pm
I have been trying to follow the threads on this issue but am a little confused.

The "On Behalf of" profile section displayed on a contribution page for an Organizational membership can be set up to include custom data fields assigned to organization contact types.  Which is great.  Is there any way for a permissioned individual contact type to access that profile (on the frontend) that includes the custom data fields without going to an "on behalf of" contribution page?  I realize that the permissioned individual can edit basic organization info through the Contact Dashboard, but the form presented seems to be hardwired to just display name, phone, email and address.  I was wondering why the dashboard-related edit form for the organization doesn't use same organization info form used in the contribution page.

I will look into hooks and/or template modifications to expose the custom data but wanted to check first if I was missing something.

I am using Joomla 2.5.13 and CiviCRM 4.4.4.

You are not missing anything and your approach will work.  We've taken a similar approach in several situations.
