Updating custom fields
February 14, 2014, 04:38:49 am
Hi

I have 2 problems:

1. I have created several custom fields and when I come to save each one I get an error:

Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
DB Error: unknown error
Return to home page.

If I return to the create custom field form then my custom field exists and I am able to create another but with the same error each time.

2. This is probably connected to the first question:

I can add data to the custom fields but when I come to edit the data I get:

Please correct the following errors in the form fields below:
This record was modified by another user!

I haven't logged out  and haven't gone to a different page while trying to update the fields.

Any help please, very gratefully received.

 :)

If it contains no useful data (yet) try deleting the entire custom field group and starting over.

Turn on debugging on CiviCRM so you can see the entire message.  This is located in the Civi menu under: "Administer > System Settings > Debugging"

If the error persists, please share your CiviCRM version number (e.g. 4.2.9 or 4.4.3) as well as debugging information displayed on screen.
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.

And turn on the backtrace option on the 'Debugging' menu option as well so it shows which object caused the error to occur
