Membership Price Sets - Text/Quantity Configuration
February 18, 2014, 02:38:53 am
Hello,

To manage the memberships, I created a price set with several fields.
So I defined three fields ( 2 radio buttons and 1 text/quantity field).
In backoffice, I have a problem with the quantity field.
Indeed when I type a quantity equal to one, i have no problem and the membership is created but when a quantity upper to one is typed I have this error message :
"Select at most one option associated with the same membership type.".
If I disable the management of this error through the code, two memberships are created instead of one.
I wanted to know if you had any ideas about the cause of this bug.
For information, I have already looked at this post to try to solve the problem:
http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,23188.msg97484.html#msg97484

When I get this error on page's reloading, the quantity field disappears .
You must select another price set and return to the first to show it again.

So I wanted to know if you have any ideas to fix these problems .
The first bug is very critical for me.

Thank you in advance.

Can you explain you membership configuration in more detail? Perhaps also include a mock-up of the price set.

Perhaps they should not be memberships but instead should be items or event registrations such as seasons tickets.

Re: Membership Price Sets - Text/Quantity Configuration

Thank you for your help.

My membership is composed of three fields price:

- Membership price set (linked to membership's types : Senior , Junior ...) (radio button)
- Order or not a book with 3 options ( book received at home, receive book at annual congress, nothing) (radio button)
- Number of tickets ordered for the gala ( quantity fields )

My problem is as follows :

In the backoffice, we want through a contribution record to save the participation to a gala with the number of tickets ordered. -> It is already working.
In the backoffice, we also want to save this participation to a gala evening with the number of tickets ordered when we create a new membership. -> Error "Select at most one option associated with the same membership type." when quantity > 1

Then we display a report listing the contributions according to their types (Command Book, listing the evening, membership dues).
The report has already been created and working properly.

I have attached a screenshot of my price set configuration.

Pierre.

I have an almost identical similar price set that gives no errors, so I think the initial set up of the price set is the problem.

I have a 3 financial types,  one each for the membership,  the book and  the gala tickets( in my case a donation option).

When I set up the price set I gave it the default financial type of membership.

For each price field I then specify the appropriate financial type.  I think this is your problem.  If you have left the financial type as "membership" for the non-membership fields, Civi probably invokes the " one option associated with the same membership type" rule.

If you are quick, look at test price set I set up on http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org.

Thank you for your reply.

I've just trying this on the demo site and it works properly.
But, when I tested on my CiviCRM, I've still got the same error.
Is a recent fix to this bug?
My CiviCRM version is 4.4.3.

I am using 4.2 and was using the same price set in 4.1 also and the demo is on 4.4.4.

You could search the issue tracker ( http://issues.civicrm.org/jira) to see if it was a regression bug in 4.4.3 that was fixed for 4.4.4, but that is unlikely I think.

Sorry I can't offer any other suggestions.
