Error upgrading 4.3.5 -> 4.4.4
February 19, 2014, 09:44:50 am
Hello Civifans,

I just tried an upgrade from 4.3.5 to 4.4.4 and got the following error message. I understand the issue, just not sure what might be causing it and how I can stop it from occurring next time I try upgrading!

thanks,

welly

Not sure. You might have to put in debugging code to have it display what the "word" it is searching on each time is so you can find the one that's too big.

I ran into this exact error.  Asumming that my word replacements were too long I reduced the number of characters to well below 255 and tried the upgrade again.  It still failed.

I filed this issue: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-14224

My workaround (which I will try next week) is to REMOVE all word replacements prior to upgrade and then copy and paste them back in once it's done.  Hope this works.
