Pay later for Contribution page - not seeing it

Not sure if this is bug or blindness  8) or other factors precluding it.

We have a online contribution set up - and though I am selecting 'allow pay later' i don't see it on the live or test options. Any obvious reasons on that little information? I will go and set a new one up since this has been sitting around since last year, and maybe it would work on a newly set up one.

Note to self: have set up a new Contribute with no joy ie Pay Later is not showing in Live or Test when I have selected it. Will now trot over to Demo site.

Note to self: I see one on the Demo

Note to others: the example on the Demo which was showing 'pay later' is happy doing so after i also checked
- Execute real-time monetary transactions and
- Contribution Amounts section enabled.

But not on ours where I get

but then they had Memb Section enabled, and I didn't, so i enabled that, and dont' get error, but still dont' have Pay Later option showing whether I have

Have constructed new contribution 'elephant' on demo - and despite following every step i could spot in terms of replicating our set, the one on the demo works and the one on ours refuses to show the 'pay later' - bah humbug.

The error message you see is because the CiviContribute form must have one of either:
 * a contribution amount
 * a membership signup

Membership signup can be free, or contributions can be donations (without membership), or membership can involve a contribution. But without one or both of these, you get the fatal error which tells you that this CiviContribute form has nothing to do.

STUMPED - so have even more diligently set up equivalent Contribution Pages on both demo and ours. Spotted that, possibly due to having PayPal not PayPal Pro on our site we were getting the option of 'pay recuring' so avoided using that. No luck. So then set up Dummy process on Demo so I could use 'equivalent' payment processors but still no luck. Our version refuses to show the 'pay later' check box (and as noted elsewhere by me, this works fine on our Events!
So this is where I am stuck. With two set ups that seem identical but as per the images, we dont see 'pay later'

FIXED

My fault - I'd left a custom template from 1.9 in place, which was not displaying the "pay later" (probably this was introduced in 2.0)

Removing the custom template and the contents of the templates_c directory fixed the issue
