problem in advanced searching with a request for surrounding (kilometer)

Hello,

we used the advanced search to find contacts in a certain city an a surrounding of 100 km.
So we typed in the location/city and added the kilometer. We didn't choose anything in the field "country".

The results seamed to be ok until we noticed that only result with a choosen country were displayed. Contacts with no country-data weren't displayed.

That seems to be strange as long as the field "country" was not choosen.

Any ideas of what went wrong?

My guess is that those addresses were not geo-coded.  I don't think proximity searches work without geo-coding.
