CiviContribute widget embedded within Civi / Drupal bug
February 26, 2014, 09:20:21 pm
Found this when attempting to paste a civi widget back into the civiContribute page and/or a different drupal page. Parts of the widget such as text and contribute button were missing.

However, when code pasted into another site, the widget would appear correct.

The fix that worked for gorctrails.com was discovered and posted as a bug by another civi user at
https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-13323?page=com.atlassian.streams.streams-jira-plugin:activity-stream-issue-tab

Pasting the widget code into the 'source' view of ckeditor causes empty SPAN tags to be cleaned up by ckeditor on save rendering the widget elements missing.

The fix is to put non-breaking spaces  in the two empty span tags.

This applies to our civi version 4.3.5 (we are on 4.3.8.) Says to be addressed and fixed in newer versions 4.4.x
