After Upgrade, Access Denied to Dashboard
May 29, 2007, 12:15:48 pm
Hi everyone,
I just upgraded to 1.7 from 1.6.  Drupal version 4.6, mysql 4.1.

When I login, I get an access denied message for the CiviCRM dashboard; however, the module block shows up and I seem to be able to use all the links on that fine (including Administer CiviCRM).

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Check you Drupal Access Control permissions. You need to explicitly set permissions for "access Contact Dashboard".

Hi Dave,
I have done that.  I don't have any trouble viewing my contact dashboard, just CiviCRM Home.

Dave,
I'm also unable to access the manage role link on the CiviCRM Access Control page.

Brad:

CiviCRM home is the same as civicrm contact dashboard :(

Not sure why you are having the below permission issues. can u login as drupal admin and see if u get the same behavior (since admin should have permission for everything)

might be easier to debug this on IRC

What I mean by CiviCRM home is the page where my upcoming meeting and phone call list is shown.  I can click on the "My Contact Dashboard" and I have no problems seeing that.

I have the same problem. Was this ever resolved?
More specifically. Clicking on CiviCrm Home goes to http://{drupal_root}/civicrm/dashboard?reset=1
and it results in "Access Denied" page.

Hi,
I had to upgrade my Drupal installation to 5.0.  After that (if I remember correctly) everything worked fine.

Me too. Seems it's a bug in the Drupal 4.7 implementation in CiviCRM1.8.
Thanks for the tip. I need to do that upgrade of my Drupal anyway!
