Hey,
I am Pankaj and I am interested in this project.
I am comfortable with PHP and MySQL and interened with a payment gateway site and helped them to set up their support for BitCoins.
Could you please tell me the prerequisites (apart from mentioned above) and how should I proceed ?

I just added a link to this draft of the student application to CiviCRM's GSoC Wiki.  This project is a little different than others since it was attempts once before.  In addition to your own experience, you can also include what you'd do differently than the previous group of Stanford students who worked on this.
