I see this page:

and then I see what I think is the same page for 4.4:

http://wiki.civicrm.org:8090/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Name+Badge+Administration,+Customization

but it has no content nor any page history. Why is that?

The process for configuring name badges changed in 4.4 with the addition of the MIH-sponsored event name badge administration UI. I guess someone started to describe the new process but maybe realized it was covered in the User Guide. I've updated the 4.4 wiki page to just provide a link to the doc at http://book.civicrm.org/user/current/events/event-badges/
