Events not listed in Basic Options when creating menu item to an event in Joomla

When creating an event registration form menu item in Joomla, only the first 25 events are listed in the Basic Options "Select Event" drop down. Since we have more than 25 event pages, we cannot get to the event page we need to attach to the menu item.  Has anyone else experienced this???  Any ideas???
