Rejecting an event registration - no email notification

I have an event I set up to require participation approval. But when you reject a participant the Send Notification option does not come up. Seems a little odd - when you cancel a registration or expire one the option is there. It may have just been looked over, I will definitely do some digging (I'm hoping it's a simple fix), just wanted to see if someone else had stumbled on this as well.
