kcfinder Browser Stop working

I am trying to upload an image for the CiviMail > Send Mail.  When I click on Image in the editor and click on Upload.  I select the file from the computer and click  Send to Server.  The screen returns nothing.   When I go to pull an image from the Server, the popup box appears and it's blank.  I see the director path is

.../wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/packages/kcfinder/browse.php?cms=civicrm&type=images&CKEditor=html_message&CKEditorFuncNum=3&langCode=en

However, nothing is there.   I check the File directory to ensure it is set to CHRMD 777.  I have search this form and nothing regarding WordPress. Any ideas where to look to correct this?

I am using version 4.4 CiviCRM and version 3.8.1 Wordpress.

Additionally:

I did ensure my Resource Path is correct for the Image Upload URL : .../wp-content/plugins/files/civicrm/persist/contribute/  set to 775
