A client of mine spotted this today when trying to print out labels.

Essentially after doing a search through "Membership > Find Memberships", the Mailing Labels do not adhere to the sort order as per the "Search > Find Contacts" results. The labels are in the same random order no matter how they are sorted.

This is similar to the recently solved issue (http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-14082) however this current issue only affects the Membership area.

To replicate the issue:

* Go to Membership > Find Memberships and create a search;
* On the results page, select contacts and sort via a header label (e.g. Name);
* Choose "Make Mailing Labels" and create the PDF labels;
* Bask in the randomness.

The only similar issues I've found on the forums relate to the "Search > Find Contacts" search results which are working fine since 4.4.4.

I'm currently running the latest Wordpress 3.8.1 and CiviCRM 4.4.4. However I was able to replicate the issue on the live Wordpress & Drupal demos as well.

This seemed familiar & I thought it was fixed - but it appears the fix I worked on was on pdf letters - it also seems I did, but discarded , a broader fix (not sure if it would have helped here though). NB the broader fix was discarded on the basis of timing not because of a specific problem with it.
