Import Summary clarification sought
April 28, 2008, 05:42:58 pm
Hi - just did an import of 39 where I only had first+last+email and one custom data to import

I specified to add all to a new group.

The summary message I got states

AED nonmembers Do Not Keep: 39 contacts added to this new group. 31 contacts NOT added (already in this group).

I don't understand this as the group did not exist, so i would expect all 39 to be there. and the group shows me 39 in it, though at first glance it looks like 7 were already in the dbase - could have been 8 which would give 31 - but still doesn't explain why the message says 31 NOT added

Hi,

I've experienced less than clear error messages or results on the imports too. I tend to take the reports and numbers given at the different stages of the import with a pinch of salt.

Good luck !

peter:

Can you recreate this on demo. it is a bug, and we do like the number to be accurate. We dont like salt too much :)

Ok, I'll salt it as well next time I find something strange then ;)

PB: Most of the imports are, quite obviously, with private datas, I don't like much the idea of putting that in the demo.
