How to display different event types in different places
March 26, 2014, 04:11:20 pm
We have two types of events we would like to display in different places.  We have our events and other people's events.  Our events get displayed in one place, while other people's events get displayed in another.  Now we do this by hand.  Is there a strategy anyone can suggest to get this to work with civievent?

As you are using Drupal perhaps a custom field attached to each event to mark it as 'ours' or 'theirs' then using drupal views filtering on that field to create the two 'ours' and 'theirs' listings.

if you are new then you need to know the steps involve creating a View using CiviEvents - and then using a Filter in the view to separate the Events you want to different Blocks or Pages.
Note that since you are using a custom field, and if your civi and drupal databases are in different databases then you will need to follow the instructions at Admin > System Settings > CMS Database integration eg civicrm/admin/setting/uf?reset=1

good luck
