Can't save City or Postal code for new records or edits
March 27, 2014, 10:10:26 pm
I've just realized that City and Postal code field values are not being saved on new record entries or edits. This also means that editing a record erases the existing City and Postal Code.

The log at /files/civicrm/ConfigAndLog/ has this entry many times and may point to the problem. We do have a customization to include County in a Contacts Address but County values are not affected.

Any idea how to sort this?

This also affects the Default Organization Address. We are not able to save the organization Address, City or Postal Code which means we cannot send bulk mail because the information is not available for the {domain.address} token.

Has this always been the case for this site?  If not what has changed? (new plugin, update of something in your hosting environment etc)

I don't think the backtrace you have posted relates to the problem - I think that is due to people/ bots hitting invalid profile urls. You might have one with an sql error in it in there somewhere?

If you have logging on try turning it off & back on (check while it's off as well as after it is back on). Is your site multilingual?

I still have this problem with logging off.

This site is not multilingual.

See the attached log file showing errors when opening the CiviCRM dashboard and adding a new record.

You should upgrade to 4.4.5 as there have been two updates with bug fixes since 4.4.3 which could have solved your problem.

Upgraded to 4.4.5 and still lose City and Postal Code when saving a record.

Edit and Add new records come back with blank City and Postal Code.

Logging is on again.

When I load the contact record, Smarty debug shows that City and Postal Code fields for {$address} are not included. What would cause this?

1 => Array (19)
  id => "3249"
  contact_id => "3941"
  location_type_id => "3"
  is_primary => "1"
  is_billing => "0"
  street_number => "267"
  street_name => "Bay Ridge Avenue"
  county_id => "2002"
  state_province_id => "1031"
  country_id => "1228"
  geo_code_1 => "37.09024"
  geo_code_2 => "-95.712891"
  manual_geo_code => "0"
  name => "Gateway City Church Location"
  address_name => "Gateway City Church Location"
  display => "<div class="location vcard"><span cla..."
  display_text => "Gateway City Church Location NY Unite..."
  location_type => "Main"

When I go to edit mode, {$addressSequence} does include city_postal_code so I can enter the values on the screen.

Array (7)
0 => "address_name"
1 => "street_address"
2 => "supplemental_address_1"
3 => "supplemental_address_2"
4 => "city_postal_code"
5 => "country_state_province"
13 => "county"
