Public pages load admin theme after cache clear
March 28, 2014, 03:30:30 pm
I have a new CiviCRM installation on a Drupal 7 site which I have configured to use different themes for public pages and admin pages. (And in case it's relevant, I will mention that the site is using Domain Access, with different themes for each domain. So the public pages theme is set to "default theme.")

This works perfectly most of the time, but occasionally - I think maybe only after the caches have been cleared - the first load of a public page will load with the admin theme instead of the regular theme. This is true even for anonymous users, who shouldn't even have access to the admin theme!

Has anyone seen this before, or do you have any ideas on what I could do to resolve it?

Have you asked on the Drupal forums?

Or do you have some reason to think this is connected to CiviCRM?

Oops, yes it looks like I failed to say in my original post that this only happens on CiviCRM pages. If I clear the cache and (re)load any page in the event or contribution flow (the two types of public-facing CiviCRM pages we have), it will load with the admin theme. A second load of the page returns it to the appropriate public theme. This does not happen on any Drupal pages.

Hard to know what it might be. Perhaps the interplay of the other modules on the site.

Rats - I was hoping it would be some known problem with a fix! Oh well - now that the site is live I won't be clearing the cache all the time anyway, so hopefully the implications of this in production are very small. Thanks for your thoughts!

I'm experiencing the same problem.  Have you found a solution to this yet?
