Installer chokes despite all green
March 28, 2014, 11:46:04 pm
I'm installing 4.4.4 as part of the latest 7.x starter kit from Drupal.org. mySql is 5.5, PHP is 5.4. All this is taking place on a bluehost.com shared server.

Install settings, which a give the all green go-ahead:

CiviCRM Database Settings

MySQL server: localhost
MySQL username: username
MySQL password: *****
MySQL database: y_civicrm

Drupal Database Settings

MySQL server: localhost
MySQL username: username
MySQL password: *****
MySQL database: y_drupal

After submitting for install I get:

"Cannot open mysql://username:passwd@localhost/y_civicrm?new_link=true: DB Error: connect failed"

Any insight would be most appreciated.

I'm new to Drupal so not sure if some of the drush tools might be used to troubleshoot this issue. If you think there's something to that, please give me some hints. Not quite sure what I'd look for.

Thanks.

That means your user/password/database name are not right. If you aren't sure why, then ask your host.
