Groups removed after editing contact record

I have a weird bug going on whenever i edit a contact record that removes a contact from all groups. If i use the on screen editor it does not remove these but for some reason each time i hit the edit button make changes and then click save i find that the contact has been removed from all groups. Any thoughts on why this would be happening?

It does not happen on the demo site so it is something specific to my site.

Do you have permissioning in place in some way? Does it affect users who have 'view all contacts' permission?

we do have permissions in place via the drupal permissions. Are you talking about access control permissions in civicrm?

i do have ACL Permissions setup. I believe everything is setup correctly for it but still having this issue. See attached image.

OK - it's not that I think that you have it set up wrong - but in the past when we hit a similar issue (which was fixed at the time) it was because some users were only able to see a subset of groups e.g a, b, c would load onto the form but not d & e. When the form was saved the groups would be saved as a,b, & c rather than the full set. So there was a problem in the form code.

I tried disabled all of the ACL controls/operations and it still is giving me the same issue. Anyone else running into this issue? i didn't start this until i upgraded to 4.4

Hi, I have just noticed your post. Did you ever resolve this? We have a similar problem after upgrading from 4.4.4. Previously we were using 4.4.3. See https://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,33657.msg142735.html#msg142735

no this issue was never resolved. it is still an outstanding issue for me that needs to be resolved as it really is annoying.

thinking about upgrading to 4.4.6.....

ahh great success! i was unaware of that being available!!!! I checked the box and now it lets me edit everything and save without removing all groups and tags.
