Using the registration url token in a scheduled reminder
April 01, 2014, 11:45:41 pm
I am setting up scheduled reminders for an event, and would like to include the registration url token.

However - the token I'm inserting is creating a link to the wp-admin version of the registration page, rather than the public version - which requires the user to login to register.

I want people to be able to register without logging in - and without going to the back-side of WordPress.

what I really want is the same link that I see when I ask to see the Event Links while in Manage Events- but that isn't what I get when I click the "token" link while setting up a scheduled reminder.

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Here is the registration_url token that gets inserted into the scheduled reminder:

http://www.newmusicalsinc.net/wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/event/register&reset=1&id=15

And here is the Link I get if I choose the "Registration Live" link under Event Links:
http://www.newmusicalsinc.net/civicrm-page/?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/event/register&reset=1&id=15

How can I get the token to look like the second link instead?

Thanks for your help!

Elise

r u on 4.2.11?

is so can u upgrade to 4.4.x and see if that fixes the issue

if not, might want to take a look at:

CRM/Core/BAO/ActionSchedule.php, function sendMailings (search for registration_url)

if you find a patch for this, please do file an issue and attach a PR to resolve it

thanx

I'm on 4.4.4

Sorry - I'm a total newbie and all my past development has been in classic ASP with an Access database so this is such a new world for me.

When you suggest that I check out CRM/Core/BAO/ActionSchedule.php, function sendMailings (search for registration_url)
 - I'm afraid I actually have no idea how to check that out ... where am I looking?  Is that a link?  A topic?

Sorry to be such a dufus...

And thanks for your help.

Elise
