PDF not changed for right to left readable language
April 02, 2014, 05:08:20 am
Am using Hebrew language in my site. This language is readable at right to left direction. My site is working fine with that but problem is  PDF not printed correctly, still it's in left to right readable format.

Any fix for this?

I stumbled on this post a bit late, but have you tried using wkhtmltopdf? It often gives better results for non-latin languages.

Here is a howto for Korean, but the same should apply for Hebrew, as long as your server also has the right fonts:

Hi Mathieu,

This is Evan Summers with NDItech, and we are working with Civi extensively on our new DemTools project. We are looking to test this proposed fix for non latin-script PDF reports on one of our multilingual Civi sites, but have many other sites on that same server. Just to be sure, would we be able to install this wkhtmltopdf fix on one site on a server without affecting the other sites on that same server? Or would the test of this have to be server-wide?

For details on our request, please see the JIRA ticket conversation that I had with David a few weeks ago: https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-16118

Thanks, and look forward to a response.

Evan Summers

Hi Evan,

If you enable wkhtmltopdf on one CiviCRM instance/site, it should not affect the others. You have to explicitly enable it in the Administration > System Settings > Misc, and enter the path to wkhtmltopdf (usually /usr/bin/wkhtmltopdf).
