When will my extension magically appear?
April 04, 2014, 06:34:46 am
I'm looking for my iATS Payments extension, published this morning. Maybe I'm just impatient? I tried to trace back through the code and discovered this url:

https://civicrm.org/extdir/ver=4.3

that the extensions are coming from, and it's not in there, even though I've given it the right compatibility and release type ('stable'). Are there other things that might be preventing it from appearing in this list?

In case it's relevant - the github home changed and the extension key as well, which meant I had to delete the old extension and create a new one, I'm not sure if that has confused some code somewhere.

Here's the extension home:

https://civicrm.org/extensions/iats-payments

Hey,

It's because we need to validate it for automatic distribution first.

And validating a payment extension is trickier, both because potential security impact and because you need an account at the bank and test accounts and bla bla that makes it impossible to test "for real".

We therefore tend to rely more on the dev/core users to do the test and we just check the code.

Do you have more than one user for this extension?
Do you have users on drupal/WP/J!?
Have you tried it in other languages than us en?

And of course I'm assuming you'll maintain it and follow up on requests in the forum?

I'll try to look at the code this we

Okay, that's reassuring, I was worried about if/how that list got vetted.

There are a few live users of the extension, and the issue queue here: https://github.com/adixon/ca.civicrm.iats/issues should give a sense of the testing that's been going on.

The extension was commissioned by iATS themselves and both they and I will be supporting it and developing it in the future.

I haven't tried any other languages, that's a good idea. Do you know of any existing test suites for payment processors?

Testing manually is actually pretty decent with iATS because they have test account that has the same functions as a real one.
