Misreporting PHP version on install
April 04, 2014, 09:27:04 pm
I'm building a local install with WordPress on my Macbook with XAMPP.

The installer -

/options-general.php?page=civicrm-install

- is not picking up the PHP version properly.  It complains

You need PHP version 5.3.3 or later, only 5.3.1 is installed.

Yet on the machine, php-v shows 5.4 is installed

delia:bin rob$ php -v
PHP 5.4.24 (cli) (built: Jan 12 2014 18:13:14)

Any tips here?

Thanks

Found the problem.  There are multiple PHP installations on this machine for some reason.

The hint here was noticing that the updated version was for CLI and not the "real" PHP.  From there, I saw I had to upgrade XAMPP in order to most sensibly upgrade PHP.
