Hi,

I can't think of any circumstance for which "Member Since" means the first date a person joined a given organisation, given that the commencement of the current term is determined by "start date".
I therefore find it very annoying that, when manually adding a renewal for a member, I have to complete the compulsory Member Since field. Because it is not prepopulated with the existing data, I have to open the member's previous membership record in a new window to retrieve the data.
I haven't yet attempted batch renewals, but if the situation is the same it would seriously undermine the efficiency of the batch system.

If the "add membership" form could check previous memberships for the same organisation and use that (the earliest date should their be multiple dates which disagree) data to prepopulate "Member Since" then it would save a lot of work. If the member date is overridden it should be (optional system setting?) validated as no later than the start date of the oldest membership.

I don't think you are using the standard renewal workflow which is to find the contact's membership and click on more at the far right of the line and select renew or renew credit card.

Then all you need to do is enter the payment details. The member since date stays as it was, the start date may or may not be adjusted depending on your membership status rules and the end date is calculated as start date plus membership term.
