Edit activity type for an existing activity entry
April 08, 2014, 05:32:07 pm
Staff who enter activities in Civi here at my organization would like to be able to change the activity type after a record is created. Currently they have to create a new activity with the correct activity type and the original activity entry with the wrong activity type has to be deleted. We do use custom fields that depend on the activity type selected, but it would be helpful to be able to keep the data already entered to extent it matches for a different activity type.

There's no UI for this afaik. But you can do it with 1 line of code via the api.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.
