Add event registrants to a group

Is there any way to do this automatically upon registration?  We would like to add all webinar registrants to an email group we have that gives updates etc. on our webinar program.

You can do this via a smart group, but you need at least one registration for the event before you can create the smart group.

Once you have that registration:
  • in the event pane of advanced search enter the event name and the statuses that should get the email.
  • on the results page select all participants then select new smart group from the action drop down
  • name your group and make sure you tick Mailing list under the group description
Each new person who meets that criteria is automatically part of the smart group

Thanks Joanne!  I was hoping i was just missing something as I couldn't see the "add to a group" option on the partipant list for an event.  Guess we'll do it the long way 'round.

I do this via the profiles. One of the options under 'advanced' is add to group and then you can select the group you'd like. Of course this is dependent on you using a profile for the event and only applies to new registrations submitted.
