Getting started Stand with alone & Wordpress Sites
April 10, 2014, 02:01:50 pm
Hello,

I build stand alone html/css websites for political campaigns and need to integrate features such as those available in CiviCRM into these sites as such a stand alone version that I could "plugin"/add to these sites I build would be great.

I would love to see any examples of stand alone websites using CiviCRM in this way.

I may also be building Wordpress sites for clients and so would like to explore what the process is of installing CiviCRM for Wordpress. Is there a link you all can point me to for a step by step guide to getting started with Wordpress CiviCRM?

Are there many Wordpress plugins for this?

Basically I'm looking for a simple user friendly solution for;
-Accepting Donations and managing donors contact information
-Signing up volunteers and managing their contact information. Maybe creating petitions if possible.
-Listing Events and managing invitations to them.
+ Optimally some way for site admins to manage contacts including users social media contact info but this is not necessary.

Any advice and help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
Joseph

To install CiviCRM in WordPress:

https://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/WordPress+Installation+Guide+for+CiviCRM+4.4

To get started:

https://civicrm.org/go

The features you mentioned are all available in CiviCRM itself without any plugins. As has been noted, there is no community-supported stand-alone version of CiviCRM.
