MIH Faster - ACL performance boost

Hi troopers,

I noticed this https://civicrm.org/blogs/eileen/making-it-happen-bit-faster-performance-and-your-civi-site mentioned that ACLs encounter a sluggish part of the codebase.

It seems that the activity table structure changed happened in 4.4, but does anyone know when (or if) the ACL performance upgrade is due?

My recollection is that this didn't get enough funding, but I could be wrong.

we've been making minor tweaks and fixes here and there on acl's but no major work. hopefully we'll do a rewrite in the 5.x release

Yeah - it was funded - it was only for 20 hours & my understanding was that since that got overlooked for 4.4 it was being done for 4.5. The scope was basically code tidy up & review the queries in it to see where they could be improved.

However, there have been a bunch of ACL related performance improvements that we & others have contributed over the last few releases so in general ACLs perform better now than they did when that blog was released
