Filter in assign volunteers
April 11, 2014, 09:33:29 am
First I want to thank whoever put this together! We will testing it out this year and hope to implement next year. We have around 700 volunteers for an event in August and we use a separate scheduling system, so to have it with our Civi would be fantastic. One problem I see though is when I go in and try to assign volunteers there is no way to filter or sort the shifts. Can this functionality be added? For example we have a finance shift and instead of looking through all of the sifts I only want to be able to see the finance shifts. When we have hundreds of shifts this will be very difficult to sort through. Also I do not see all of the defined volunteer needs I added in the define volunteer needs section on the assign volunteers page.

Hi Ryeradio!
CiviVolunteer was a collaboration of the CiviCRM core team and civi-shops. My partner, and I were the primary developers outside of the core team.

Glad to have your interest. This is definitely a reasonable feature request.
We are about to launch into the next major development cycle. I don't think this was requested though. I think there is plenty of time before your roll-out though.

Could you create a feature request in Jirra?
https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/VOL
[use the "Create Issue" button at the top, and select issue type: "New Feature"]

I'd be interested to learn more about your trials of it. I'll send you some contact info in a private message.

Cheers

hey ryeradio:

since your org does have a fairly large event and will benefit directly from the current CiviVolunteer and future versions, would really really help both gingko and the core team if your org can fund further improvements to CiviVolunteer. As a FLOSS project, having end users support the project financially is super important
