Send an reminder invitation of an event

Hey,

Is it possible to send out a reminder to a group of contacts but exclude those who are a participant of an certain event?

i suspect u'll have to create a group with those contacts outside the scheduled reminder framework and then send a reminder to that group

That wouldn't work because the reminders we want to sent our not scheduled at all. They occur when the organiser thinks they should.

I think Pete uses the 'in group. not in group custom search'. I actually wrote a patch to allow advanced search to search by 'does not have tag' - might be some extra challenges to extend that idea to not-in-group (& I don't know that the patch got into core anyway - I think it's stalled)

Perhaps you didn't include enough detail in your first post. If the reminder is not scheduled it just becomes a Civimail action.

Civimail already lets you send to one group but exclude members of a second group.

How much admin access does the organiser?

How many are likely to be in the group?

Hey Joanne,

We can use CiviMail and we can put the target audience in a smart group but we don't want to create a group for every event containing the registered contacts.

Ah yes but then the same question applies, how do I find everyone who is in a group but not registered as a participant for an event

Ok. I can figure out a code solution as i am a developer. I will see if it is then still a priority and worth spending time on.
