I recently started having problems when the smart group cache is being rebuild.

Whenever the job executes, it's stuck when trying to create a temporary table in the db (CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE civicrm_temp_group_contact_cacheXX). It never gets past preparing the SQL statement. After about a day I kill the process, because it doesn't look like it will ever finish. While it is trying to create that temporary table, some actions in the UI will not work.

What can I do to fix this problem?
